STL Sacrifice

So, Ben and I committed to a STL amount that may seem insignificant to some, but to us to requires great sacrifice. In our busy lives sometimes it is so easy to say lets just pick some fast food up or with our lack of children we just decide to go do something random that happens to cost money. Now with our commitment, we are learning to really think and plan our time out.  We want to reach our goal and we know that it won't happen unless we sacrifice certain things that are even in our budget.  With Ben only working a work study job and the rest of the money we're living off is from loans, we aren't rolling in the dough.  But that is okay. Sacrifice teaches us to be less selfish (and to eat better, lol).

We also took some of my old teenage girl books (they weren't that old) and sold them at Redeemed bookstore for $30.  Now, I'm not going to lie I was hoping for more, but I'm glad that we were able to get that much and I am realizing God's lessons in sacrifice more and more. Especially when they offered us $60 in store credit or $30 cash....that was very tempting (I mean, that is a lot of books or cds or games or whatever that we could have gotten), but what is more important a car for people to hear the gospel or a totally great read?
