Living (noun): the means of maintaining life; livelihood (dictionary.com)
Living (adj): having life; full of life (Marriam-Webster's dictionary)
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." John 10:10
Living means having life, being full of life... So we can only truly live when we are in Christ.
Which, would be saying that those without Christ are dead because they cannot have life to the full (living) without Him.
