For the past nine weeks, I've been running a marathon. That is a long marathon, you say. You're right it is, but it is a short one when it comes to life. This marathon has involved finishing classes, taking finals, planning the last minute details of a wedding, and going through graduation activities. Well, that marathon ended on May 9th, 2009. May 10, 2009 marked the beginning of a new marathon called Married Life. With my emotions running high for the past nine weeks, it is no small wonder that I didn't completely break down and cry that day. I did shed some tears (of joy, I promise) but I held my composure for a little while.
With my dad doing the ceremony it could not have been a more personal ceremony, although I would avoid his eyes sometimes so I wouldn't break down and cry. Jamie's singing was beautiful, the words of the song filling my heart. Hallelujah, the wedding is over. We're married and happy.
The only sadness in the whole day was the missing person, my cousin Jackie. Her beautiful look-a-like daughter walked down the aisle as my flower girl, while her dad, grandpa, and grandma cried. I cried when I hugged them later...Jackie was a hero in my life and I greatly missed her presence.
The dancing at the wedding was a major blessing for me, as it allowed me to put all the emotions of joy, sadness, excitement, and amazement into one thing...
Thank you to everyone who helped in some way with the wedding. It was a major blessing for my mom, my dad, Ben, and me. Thank you to everyone who came to the wedding. We appreciate you showing your support through your presence.
To Ben, thank you for choosing me to be your bride...
