married life

Wow, married life... Married life is amazing. These past two and a half months of marriage have been a MAJOR learning process for me. It has been interesting learning how to manage our money together, live together, create a home together, clean house together, get organized together, make a menu together, go grocery shopping together, share a car, etc. And guess what?! We still don't have it figured out. Some things are easier to do and with other things it seems like we've been doing them forever like grocery shopping, etc.

We have unpacked almost everything in our house. :P The things that aren't unpacked don't have a place in our home yet. We have a nice and comfortable home. A living room with two loveseats, Ben's "man chair" aka a recliner, a TV and tv stand, an end table, and a hope chest. Our kitchen is spacious and has a dining room table with no chairs (anyone want donate??) with lots of counter space that holds Barry (our beta fish), storage containers, a toaster, a microwave, and dirty dishes (from time to time). The cupboards are full of food (for two people) and random dishes. The bottom cupboards have pans, Awesome pots (thanks to Ben's mom & Steve), and cooking utensils. We have a stove that has a timer(!) and a great oven. We also have a fridge that always has OJ in it and random leftovers. Our freezer has meat. Ben's favorite cooking utensil is in the screened in back porch, our free gas grill (thanks Josh & Lacy & Steve). We also have an office with my antique desk and all of our collectibles from all over the world. Our bathroom also serves as a laundry room, which actually has a washer and dryer (thanks to craigslist) in it. Finally our bedroom that has a bed in it, a nightstand next to it, and my dresser from Germany. Technically the last thing is the garage which has everything we don't need right now or have a place for right now.

Our routine right now is that I wake up start getting ready, wake Ben up, we have breakfast, we have devotions, I finish getting ready, I go to work, Ben does his thing (sleeping or stuff around the house), Ben eats lunch, Ben goes to work, I come home or Ben comes home, we start on dinner or just one of cooks (depending on the meal), we eat, and then we hang out or go to worship practice or got to church. The weekends definitely vary especially this summer.

Well, that is all I have to say for now....except that I love you, Benjamin Michael Thorne. I'm so glad that I'm your wife for life.
