God is Awesome

Hey, so I think that God is Awesome. Here a few reasons why:

Healing:
During the summer of 2006, I worked on weekends cleaning a hospital, it was not my favorite job. It was often sad and gross. In the spring of 2007 I had to take a TB test for a practicum at an Elementary School, the test came back positive. I was scared out of my mind. I had x-rays done and obviously I didn't have active TB, they said I could take this medicine that would wipe it out of my system and I needed to be taking lots of vitamins because if my immune system went down the TB would go active. I spent a lot of time praying and also pretending like nothing was wrong. I didn't want to deal with it. That summer, my boyfriend...Ben...came to visit in Hawaii. One late night we were talking and stuff and Ben just started praying for me. It was weird, but then it got weirder...I felt kind of weak, went to the ground and Ben continued to pray for me. Eventually, after I let go emotionally, I felt a hand touch me and it wasn't Ben. Then I heard God say you're healed and I was like from what? He said your disease is gone. What disease? The TB is gone. I was ecstatic and I prayed that if it was true the next TB test I took would be negative, which is impossible b/c once you've been exposed to TB and tested positive, you will always test positive. I went to the nurses office the first week I was back at school had her test me and it was negative. Praise God!!
Right now, Ben and I don't have a lot of money. We can't afford to get sick because it would mean missing work, going to the doctor (if it was serious), buying medicine, etc. Thank God that He has kept us from illness. We've had the usual headaches and such, but thankfully we've rested when we've felt really bad and God has kept any illness from getting too bad. We haven't had to go to the doctor or missed days from work!! God has awesome healing power!!!

Financially:
God has helped us to keep our bills low. He has given us wonderful parents who are financially able to & willing to continue to pay for our cell phones & car insurance until we are financially capable to take care of those things. God has blessed us to able to do things with Realife like go to camp because Realife is financially blessed & able to allow leaders to do the stuff that Realife needs leaders for free of charge. Our grocery bill is low thanks to Aldi & that we only have two people to feed. God has helped to keep our extra expenses low or even to nothing despite when I drive half the car in the ditch b/c the driveway is narrower than it looked... We are definitely not rolling in the dough or even able to save a whole lot right now, but God is helping us live off of what we're making.

Changes Lives:
Wow, have we seen that in Realife, we have seen students grow so much in their walk with God and it is so exciting to see them mature in their walk with God. They go from my life sucks to God cares about whats happening to me to God cares about whats happening with my friends and I need to tell them. It is so awesome to see them move closer to God. It is very challenging because we don't say do as say, not as I do. We say do as I do. If we challenge the students, we challenge ourselves. Sometimes they challenge us. One student said he had read the entire bible this summer!!! So EXCITING!! And challenging, now granted he had a little more time on his hands this summer, but when was the last time I read through the Bible? Too long ago...probably during Missionettes.
We see it on Sunday morning at the altar call, people are getting saved, they're being baptized, and their lives are being changed forever. I see it when I'm in service and God is challenging me on my attitude about something, about how I'm treating someone, etc. God changes lives if we let Him.

Well, those are just 3 reasons why God is awesome and deserves to be praised. There are many more and they are all around us.
